Letter to the Editor – Early Voting Starts October 20th

Early Voting Starts October 20th

Ridgefield made history in 2024 with its first general election that included early voting, and it was a clear success. More than 6,000 residents took advantage of the opportunity, showing that when voting is more accessible, participation rises.

This year, I encourage Ridgefielders who are making their voting plan to consider early voting. It isn’t just convenient. Early voting ensures that no voter has to choose between work, family, health, travel, and their right to vote. With more days and longer hours, early voting allows you to control when you cast your ballot.

Early voting will be held at Town Hall from October 20 through November 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended hours on October 28 and 30, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Election Day voting remains on November 4 at your regular polling place.

Connecticut has built a system that is safe, secure, and trustworthy. Ballots are carefully protected, voter rolls are monitored, and every vote is counted under bipartisan oversight. The Republican Registrar and I work side by side to make sure the process is fair and transparent.

Voting early is simple, reliable, and powerful. It helps reduce lines on Election Day and strengthens our democracy by giving every voter the flexibility they deserve. Plan now to vote early and make your voice heard.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Caron
