Our community deserves skilled leadership to bring our schools into the future.
Impressed By Democratic BOE Candidates Forum
On Tuesday September 30th, at the League of Women Voters Forum, the four Democratic candidates for the Board of Education: Kathryn Graf, Scott Sigal, Angela Rice and Tina Malhotra, showed Ridgefield why they are the right people to have at the Board table. It was clear that all had done their homework and will be ready to hit the ground running to keep Ridgefield schools top-notch. They will bring strong complementary skills, including accounting, teaching, PTA work, non-profit expertise and BOE leadership to the table. Our children deserve leaders with varied strengths to provide sound and fiscally responsible results for Ridgefield. I am confident that all four will be strong advocates for Ridgefield students. Each candidate skillfully answered questions concerning Special Education, the “Master Plan,” board relations and the current review of cell phone usage at Ridgefield High School. Their personal statements and responses about real issues in our schools show that they are not only knowledgeable, but will also work as a team for all of the Ridgefield students. We need continued Democratic leadership on the Board of Education so that we keep our schools among the best in the state. This means delivering responsible budgets that focus on student achievement, health and wellness and equal opportunities. It also includes community engagement so that families’ voices are heard and reflected in the Board’s decision making. I encourage you to vote Row A all the way for Kathryn Graf, Scott Sigel, Angela Rice and Tina Malhotra, starting October 20th with early voting. Our students deserve the best.
