Letter to the Editor – Graf, Sigel, Rice, Malhotra for BOE

Graf, Sigel, Rice, Malhotra for BOE

Dear Editor,

I am writing in strong support of the Democratic slate for the Ridgefield Board of Education. As a former PTA Co-President, I have the privilege to learn first hand what our schools need: dedication, experience, collaboration and commitment. What excites me most about this Democratic team is each candidate brings a unique strength that will create a balanced and complete Board: Tina Malhotra, current Board Chair, has guided our schools through the pandemic and beyond. She is a steady, inclusive leader with deep community connections. Angela Rice is a seasoned educator and administrator. During our years as PTA co-presidents together, I had firsthand exposure to her ability to listen, problem-solve, and advocate for students. These qualities will serve Ridgefield families well while part of the BOE. Kathryn Graf, a CPA, offers financial expertise that ensures taxpayer resources are managed wisely and transparently. Scott Sigel, a nonprofit CEO, brings vision and innovation that align with preparing students for real-world success, whatever the pathway. Their platform emphasizes fiscal responsibility, expanding academic opportunities, supporting student wellness, and engaging the community. Together, this team has the skills to deliver on those promises: experience in governance, education, finance, and executive leadership. From my past school involvement, I know that strong schools require both passion and practical know-how. This slate has it all. I encourage Ridgefield residents to support Tina Malhotra, Angela Rice, Kathryn Graf, and Scott Sigel for Board of Education. They will provide the thoughtful, balanced leadership our children and community deserve. Vote Row A all the way!
