Vote YES for no-excuse absentee voting to improve access to voting for everyone!
BALLOT QUESTION 1. “Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?”
CONTENT AND PURPOSE OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT Under the current state constitution, qualified voters may cast an absentee vote only if they are unable to vote in person at their polling place on election day due to (1) absence from their city or town, (2) sickness or physical disability, or (3) their religious beliefs prohibiting secular activity on that day. If this amendment is approved, the state constitution would no longer limit the reasons why absentee voting may be used. Therefore, it would expand the state legislature’s authority to pass laws regarding voting by qualified voters who will not appear at their polling place on election day.
The preceding explanatory text was prepared by the nonpartisan Office of Legislative Research subject to approval by the General Assembly’s joint standing Committee on Government Administration and Elections in accordance with Section 2‐30a of the Connecticut General Statutes.

- Savet brings to the table her depth of experience volunteering in the schools, recruiting skilled and dedicated residents to serve on our town boards, and the personal experience navigating the issues confronting seniors and elder-care.
- As a problem-solver and dedicated community advocate, Savet Constantine cares for her community, wants to see our towns thrive, and is prepared to serve and champion our community in Hartford. Savet wants to get things done and done correctly.
Savet’s main priorities are:
- Ensuring our schools’ excellence and student safety as shown through her 16 years work on the PTA, covering the essential components of school budget, student needs, and facilitating communications with parents, teachers and administration. Her commitment to ensuring our children receive a strong education is as strong as her commitment to student safety, as reflected in her endorsement by CT Against Gun Violence and as a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate.
- Ensuring the economic viability of our towns and state as a fiscally minded moderate, she understands that the key to making our state more affordable is to boost business opportunities for a thriving economy. She knows how falling business presence in our towns affects local homeowners and their tax burden. State Senator Julie Kushner has spent her career bringing working people together to win real victories, and her tenacity to work hard every day for the people of Danbury, Ridgefield, and New Fairfield is why we’re going to re-elect her on November 5.
In just her few short years in office, Julie has delivered – from passing paid family and medical leave to raising the minimum wage to expanding paid sick days to all Connecticut workers.

- Chairs the Senate Children’s committee, where she has expanded access to mental health services for children and acted to research and address the effects of hate speech on children and youth.
