Inauguration 2025: Ready for Action

Avoiding the News? We Get It.

But this is not a moment to give up.

November’s loss has still left many of us demoralized. Not just for the loss of the election, but for what seems like a loss of our American values and institutions – and of the world as we know it.

Many of us want to log off and tune out.

“What’s the point? He won. He has the Presidency. The Senate. The House. And it seems, the Supreme Court,” some say.

This is not a moment to give up. Or give in.

At this time I take great pride in November’s results here in Ridgefield and in Connecticut more broadly. In Ridgefield, all of our local Democratic candidates improved their margins over previous elections. And across the state, Democrats added to their majorities in the State House and Senate.

This didn’t just “happen.” It was the result of very good work from many of the people who are reading this.

Trump’s modus operandi is to spew toxic verbiage at measurable intervals – some of which may be acted on, while the rest will go into the memory hole (e.g., lowering grocery prices, anyone?). The essence of strategy in this case will be to watch what they do, not what they say.

Assuming his administration does implement tariffs and mass deportations, we can anticipate two highly negative economic consequences – higher prices and slower growth (stagflation) or even a recession. And pain for everyone but the wealthiest among us.

That’s why we at the Ridgefield Democratic Committee (DTC) have created an Action Center. To help you – when you’re ready – to get involved.

There’s a role for each of us. Whether we donate or participate. Our goal is to win elections, at every level, every time.

Whatever you do – don’t lose hope. Even small things add up. We’re all in this together. And there are lots of ways – big and small – to make a difference. We look forward to you joining us.

Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee
